Chief Financial Officer - Phoenix, AZ

Legal Resource Group has been retained by a large southwestern law firm to assist them in their search for a fully qualified Chief Financial Officer. The position has full responsibility for all financial functions for a 190 lawyer, 6 office firm. This is an exempt salaried position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Managing Partner and the Firm’s Finance Committee. The position is based in the Firm’s Phoenix headquarters office and has three direct reports – the Managers of Finance, Billing and Accounts Receivable.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for directing the firm-wide financial operations including accounting, billing, collection, treasury, financial reporting and analysis, and budgeting. The CFO serves as the primary business and financial advisor to the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, Managing Partner, Finance Committee and the firm’s operating units.

The successful candidate for the CFO position will have appropriate qualifications for a senior financial management position including a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a similar discipline, a CPA certificate and/or a Master of Business Administration or Accountancy degree. In addition, it is anticipated the successful candidate will have at least five years in financial management of a large professional service firm involved in issues of strategic planning, negotiations, budgeting, tax accounting and sophisticated financial analysis. Significant experience in financial management with a large law firm is required.
