What is the fee structure?
Our fee structure is very simple. We receive a $15,000 retainer upon the commencement of the search against our eventual fee of 25% of the successful candidate’s first year compensation (salary and guaranteed bonus only). We recognize that our fee is substantially lower than many of our competitors; however, we believe it does not represent any difference in the level of quality. In fact, we are often engaged by law firms when a traditional “headhunter” has failed. Because we only serve one segment of a single industry and have a business model that provides us with a low cost structure, we are able to achieve strong profitability while fairly pricing our efforts. We take great pride in the fact that we have never failed in a search and our client base is built on repeat relationships.
Why does LRG’s approach work?
Because we only work with law firms, we understand the unique aspects of working in a partnership and the demands for excellence and urgency. As a general statement, for management and administrative positions, individuals with experience in a law firm perform better and achieve maximum performance faster than individuals without that experience. We have one of the most complete databases of individuals involved in legal management working with law firms. We also work with various professional associations as a means of contacting individuals with an interest and qualifications that are currently working in the field.
Are partner and associate searches a service that LRG provides?
No, Legal Resource Group only searches for Administrative and Executive positions for Law Firms.
What is the average time a search is completed in?
Most searches on average take between 45-60 days (from the time we are engaged to start the search until the candidate has accepted an offer).
Can the search be customized by location or firm size?
Absolutely, our database of possible candidates allows us to customize the search.
Is it possible to request a particular recruiter for a search?
Yes. If you have worked with LRG in the past, and wish to have the recruiter that worked on your previous search work on your new search, we will be happy to honor that request.
Will I be able to contact the recruiter directly who is working on my search?
Once your search starts, the recruiter will be in contact with you on an ongoing basis. You will have all the contact information for the recruiter, who is dedicated to your search until it is filled.
How will I know where the recruiter is at with the search?
Each week, the client receives a report showing all contacts made, information obtained and any resumes or bios generated. The report includes a summary of our conversations with candidates, particularly any information obtained that may be of competitive or marketing value to our client. Typically, this includes the candidate's knowledge about and perception of the client. This report is followed by a telephone call from the recruiter to assure client satisfaction, obtain any additional information and fine-tune the search process.
Can changes be made to the search once it is started?
Certainly. Many times a search will start, and after a short period of time, due to information gained by the search, or changes being made by the firm, the search will change. New salary information, location of the potential position, title changes and more are all part of the process.
What happens if I have a candidate that I have interviewed but still want LRG to do a larger scale search?
On a number of occasions, we have been asked to search for a firm, but they have interviewed a potential candidate and do not want to lose the ability to hire that candidate down the line. We are happy to "remove " that candidate from the search. This gives the firm the ability to hire that candidate with no fee due to LRG other than our $15,000 non-refundable retainer fee. Rarely has a firm ever hired a candidate that they have held out of a search.
What do I get besides the candidate's resume?
In addition to a candidate's resume, you will also receive a candidate information report. This report is sent with each resume. The candidate report is the information gathered at the time the recruiter has interviewed the potential candidate. Questions are asked of the candidates that pertain to the information that is in the prospectus of the position, such as qualifications, current position, salary expectations, why the candidate is looking to leave their current position and more. You will also receive the call report on a weekly basis.
We would be delighted to assist you in your search. You can be assured that you will receive our fullest attention. Please contact us if we can provide you with any additional information at (646) 573-0246.
